Steps to Program a Lexus Garage Door Opener

Start by parking your Lexus vehicle either inside your Guaynabo garage or nearby. That way, you can effectively program your Lexus garage door opener. To complete this process, you also need your usual garage door remote, so make sure you have that readily available as well. Then, follow the instructions below on how to program a Lexus garage door opener.

1. Identify your car’s three Homelink® buttons — usually located on the rearview mirror or near the overhead console.
2. Press and hold buttons #1 and #3 at the same time, until the Homelink® indicator light turns green and begins to flash. Release both buttons.
3. Hold your usual garage door remote near the Homelink® buttons.
4. Then, simultaneously press and hold your garage door remote button and Homelink® button #1. The light will again turn green and begin to flash, at which point you should release both buttons.
5. Next, you will go into your garage to locate the garage door control box. Find the “Learn Button” on the side of the box. This can look different for different control boxes, but it is often a red or black square button.
6. Press the “Learn Button” once. You will then have 30 seconds to return to your Lexus and Homelink® button #1 again.
7. At this point, if your garage door opens or closes when you use Homelink®, then you have successfully programmed a Lexus garage door opener. 
8. Repeat the steps above for additional garage doors or gates you wish to associate with your Homelink® system.
